Michaela Olson, Creative Project Director
Michaela has a Bachelor’s of Science in Family Social Sciences with a focus in family violence prevention. While in school, she spent her time volunteering at House of Peace (a women’s shelter) as a children’s advocate. She helped the women and children gain a closer and safe relationship through crafts, games and activities. Michaela has worn many hats as a preschool teacher, a barista and a freelance designer. This led her to her pursuing a certificate in user experience/user interface design from Springboard.
Michaela has worked with a handful of individuals and companies to transform their user experiences online through design. She looks forward to merging both of her areas of study into one role at Alliance for Healing. Outside of work, Michaela is an active person; she enjoys biking, swimming, knitting, crocheting, reading, watching movies and trying new restaurants.
“I have a passion for understanding how things work together in harmony. We all have unique backgrounds and characteristics that make us who we are. I deeply value when people feel comfortable enough to share their true opinions. This concept is critical in gaining a better understanding of others and how they perceive the world around them.”
