I provide therapy to children, teenagers, adults, families, and couples who are trying to find ways to improve their lives.  It takes a lot of energy and courage to start counseling and I want to help you find long-lasting relief.  I believe in your ability to heal yourself and my goal is to empower you to find wisdom, strength, and hope.

Carol Joy Ladd, MSW, LICSW, LSSW

Through my years, I have learned that obstacles will be placed in our way as an invitation for growth. Most often we rise to the challenge and move forward. Sometimes the obstacles can be overwhelming, and impossible to traverse alone. Seeking guidance and support during difficult times is good self- care. There are times when we may not have all the answers and that is okay. As your support and guide we will address your challenges. We will explore thoughts and feelings that are holding you back from healing. I will provide tools, perspectives and strategies and together we will determine the best course for your healing. As a Traditional Native Woman, I may offer perspectives in how we see ourselves, our relatives and the world. We will address the mind, body, spirit, emotion “collective” that is you.  Together we will seek understanding, compassion and self-realization.

Psychotherapy is an opportunity for you to seek professional help in working through challenges which are impacting your well-being and the well-being of those around you. Through hospitality, I provide a safe and empathetic space where we can address the area of concerns. By providing psychoeducation, I will help you understand what’s happening, identify ways of coping with and develop the tools to overcome these challenges. Together, we will work towards establishing your positive well-being.

CHARLIE BULMAN, MPS, LPCC, LADC

Life happens in the myriad big and small decisions we make daily that lead to the things we actually do.  We act, or we think, or we mull things over. At times we are unable to choose, stuck in old behaviors or trapped in circular thoughts. I provide counseling to help you resolve ambivalence, rediscover core values or redefine your sense of self. At other times, facing sudden tragedy, coming to therapy provides you with empathetic support and helps you build new emotional resources to effectively move through the difficult time.

IRIS HEIEREN, MA, LAMFT

I provide individual counseling to help you move effectively beyond self-defeating habits to a more rewarding, satisfying life while gaining awareness and skills. In marriage counseling and family therapy, I will work with you to help you break out of old patterns to communicate and work together more effectively or to avoid replicating patterns in future relationships.

SHANNON HIMANGO, MA, LMFT

Taking the step to reach out for therapy is a brave move.  Relationships and life in general can offer great sources of joy as well as frustrations, and when talking with our family and friends, we may edit or limit what we say for fear of judgment or burdening them. Reflecting and expressing ourselves freely with a neutral, non-judgmental helping professional is an excellent way to increase self awareness and insight about the challenges we encounter, even if we aren’t quite certain what to say.

I provide the general practice of counseling for older adolescents through adulthood, couples and families.  I strive to offer an environment of trust, safety and respect in which important feelings and issues may be explored and processed.

The human experience is influenced by a variety of factors, and each person is unique in how they view self, others, and the world. We are resilient beings capable of discovery, creativity, and growth; we are also creatures of habit, naturally geared to pursue comfort, connection, and belonging. This intersection of influences and desires is not always experienced with clarity. Sometimes we need support when we feel stuck or defeated in life, and therapy is a beautiful opportunity to unpack our burdens and approach things in a new light. Being a therapist is an honor and I view each session as a sacred space for my clients. I am passionate about cultivating authentic healing and growth, and I believe in the unique potential of each person I work with.

When teaching writing, I often tell my students that writing is easy. What is tricky is identifying your purpose and finding balance: knowing when to drive your writing and when to allow yourself to become a vessel and let your words be gifts which flow from you. At Alliance for Healing, we endeavor to embody this daily while helping you find your own purpose and balance.

When stepping into our doors, or our virtual waiting rooms, I hope to bring you a sense of belonging and support through the process of the therapeutic journey. My prior experiences have led me to the understanding that client satisfaction is much more than a nice warm smile and attention to detail. Navigating life can be cumbersome and my desire is to listen when needed, offer my guidance as I'm able, and seek out answers to requests I may not know. My inbox and ears are always open.
